TaylorMade TP Golf Balls

TaylorMade TP

The TaylorMade TP golf balls are an in-house favorite. I’ve hit all kinds of different golf balls in search of that perfect balance of distance and touch. I found a few good ones that felt nice, like the Callaway HX, the Bridgestone B330, and the Pro V1; I even like the Nike Mojo for the price. But then the clouds opened and a buddy put a sleeve of the TaylorMade TP golf balls in my hand. At first I was pretty skeptical. TaylorMade wasn’t known for their amazing golf balls. I teed it up for the first time and it felt like a spring off the club face. It looked good, it felt good, and had great distance. I looked at my buddy and said, “Nice, but that means the short game feel will only be okay”. So I pulled out the “Big 8″ and got ready for the feeling of a rock coming off the club face. Wrong!! I was blown away! The ball felt like it had been a dream. I looked at my buddy and said, “Sold”!!!!

The Mumbo Jumbo

So here’s the part where we talk about all the technical “Mumbo Jumbo” and explain in a very short sentence what it means.

The TaylorMade TP golf ball has a NdV4 Super-Core Technology for Accelerated Ball Speed. A neodymium-based rubber compound that combines ultra-high COR and exceedingly low compression. In layman’s terms: Faster Ball + Less Spin = MORE DISTANCE.

The TaylorMade TP golf ball has a Pentangular Di-Pyramid Dimple (PDP) Design for Increased Carry, Consistency and Stability. This dimple design helps with aerodynamics that give the ball greater lift with less drag. In layman terms: The Cooler the Dimples, the Farther the Distance.

The TaylorMade TP golf ball has a Multi-blend Ionomer Mantle for added Speed and Optimal Launch. The mantle in the TP Red and TP Black does two things. One, it helps regulate each ball’s launch angle off both the driver and the irons. Two, its high-COR compound works with the core to boost ball speed, making the high-speed qualities built into each model accessible to not just higher swing speeds, but average swing speeds as well. In layman’s terms: Your guess is as good as mine! I just know it works!

Finally the TaylorMade TP golf ball also has an Ultra-thin Thermoset Urethane Cover for Superior Spin. The thermoset urethane cover delivers a tour-caliber blend of spin, soft feel and superior durability. In layman’s terms: You’re not going to have to replace your ball after every 9 iron approach.

TaylorMade TP Red & TP Black

TaylorMade TP Balls

The TaylorMade TP comes in two forms, the Red, and the Black. Here is a list of both in action:

TP Red

  • Accelerated ball speed for greater distance
  • High-launch and low-spin off the driver for greater distance
  • Low-launch and high-spin off the irons for greater command
  • Exceptional greenside spin for superior shot-stopping control

TP Black

  • Accelerated ball speed for greater distance
  • High-launch and low-spin off the driver for greater distance
  • High-launch and high spin off fairway woods, hybrids and irons for greater distance
  • Exceptional greenside spin for superior shot-stopping control

Bottom Line

Look, the only way you’re going to know what these golf balls are truly like is to get a dozen and let’em fly. You’re looking to spend in the area of $40. So go get some and let me know what you think. Oh, and tell them SwingItEasy.com sent you.

Shave Strokes Off Your Score Now!

Wait!!

Before you drop your entire shoe box of cash on that new set of golf clubs, there is something you need to know before you walk out the door. Are those sticks you just bought custom to your body? If you have an “uh” floating around in your head, turn around and get those golf clubs fitted NOW!

The Easiest Way To Lower Your Score Now!

If you didn’t know by now, custom fitting your golf clubs is a must. Almost every golf club manufacturer you can think of builds their clubs to a standard. The odds are, you aren’t the standard. You see, even though we all might think we swing like Tiger Woods, we don’t. Even if your swings are identical your bodies are not. You’re taller, you’re shorter, your wrist is lower to the ground, or your wrist is further from the ground. Too many things come into play for you to just swing the standard. Getting your golf clubs custom fit to your body and swing is the fastest way to drop that handicap you’ve had for awhile.

What Are Your Options?

So, now that I’ve beaten that to death, here are your options. If you’re going to drop a ton of cash on those golf clubs you’ve wanted, and it’s going to put a good size dent in the funds, there’s still hope. When you buy your clubs most places will offer a FREE custom fitting. Even places online like TGW.com or GolfSmith.com offer free fitting over the internet. Basically, they will ask you for some measurements, so make sure you have a yardstick or tape handy. Now, this is just custom to your body type. If you want “all the bells and whistles” (which you do!), it will cost anywhere from $100 up. It all depends on how in depth you get. The local shops here in Utah use a system called RoboFit. This takes into account your swing speed, ball trajectory, ball flight, and about a thousand other things. They charge $100 an hour, but if you’re going to drop $2000 on a new set, it is well worth getting the right $2000 set. If you’re wanting to get this done, contact your local golf shop and ask where you can get the custom fit with all the “bells and whistles”. Tell them SwingItEasy.com sent you.
